The highly anticipated second episode of the “Enter the Garden” anime anthology, titled “Fractured Reflections,” is set to premiere on February 27th. This installment follows the success of the first episode, “The Waiting Man,” which launched in April 2024, and promises to delve deeper into the mysterious world established by the series.

A Fusion of Anime and Web3

“Enter the Garden” is a three-part anime anthology series produced through a collaboration between Azuki, a Los Angeles-based Web3 anime startup, and Dentsu, a Japanese advertising agency. The series boasts the creative production of Goro Taniguchi, renowned for his work on “Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion” and “One Piece Film: Red”. This unique project explores the intersection of art, technology, and culture, aiming to establish a foothold for future generations of creators in the realm of NFTs and anime.

Production Team and Creative Vision

“Fractured Reflections” features a talented creative team:

  • Director: Yukio Takatsu (Naruto Shippuden Opening 17 director)
  • Series Composition: Taku Kishimoto (Erased, Haikyuu!!, Sakamoto Days)
  • Character Design: Kazuto Nakazawa (Kill Bill)

“Fractured Reflections”: A Glimpse into the Story

The second episode, “Fractured Reflections,” tells the story of two sisters, Shao and Raizan, who rely on each other to survive in a place called the Alley. Raizan mysteriously vanishes, and Shao spends years searching for her. Carrying her sister’s sword, Shao stumbles upon a mysterious torii gate and enters the unknown world of the Garden.

Where to Watch

“Fractured Reflections” will premiere live sometime in February 2025 on Anime.com, Azuki’s new platform, and will be available on demand on Azuki’s YouTube channel.

“The Waiting Man”: Setting the Stage

The first episode, “The Waiting Man,” introduces Haru, a free-spirited skater who feels like a misfit. She meets T.K., a mysterious man waiting by a vending machine. The episode explores themes of identity and belonging, hinting at the larger mysteries of the Garden.

Story of “The Waiting Man”

Haru, a skater who feels out of place, encounters T.K. The episode delves into Haru’s frustrations with societal expectations and hints at the significance of the vending machine and the titular Garden. The interactions between the characters lead to an action sequence, ending on a cliffhanger that sets up the rest of the series.

What to Expect From “Enter the Garden”

The “Enter the Garden” anthology aims to deliver a unique storytelling experience by bringing together top talent in the anime industry. The series will consist of three episodes. The project seeks to push creative boundaries by exploring the potential of NFTs in anime production.
