The series, which began broadcasting in Japan in July 2025, follows Yu Yutani, a good-natured first-year high school student who tries to adopt a “wicked delinquent” persona to impress Atori Mizutori, the head of the school’s student disciplinary committee whom she idolizes.

The Bad Girl Anime: A School Comedy Premise
Bad Girl is adapted from a four-panel school comedy manga by Nikumaru. The story centers on Yu Yutani, a seemingly model student with perfect attendance and excellent grades, who is adored by her teachers. However, beneath her exemplary exterior, Yu harbors a unique ambition: to become a “bad delinquent” to catch the eye of Atori Mizutori, the cool and admired head of the student disciplinary committee. The series humorously explores Yu’s struggles to adopt this persona and the ensuing comedic situations.
Atori Mizutori, a gifted, beautiful, and universally adored third-year student, is completely unaware of the extent of her admirers, including the “Atorists” – her legions of fans. Yu’s childhood friend and classmate, Suzu Suzukaze, who has a naturally intimidating look despite being gentle and caring, often observes Yu’s attempts at delinquency with exasperation.

The Bad Girl TV anime officially premiered on July 5, 2025. It is directed by Jouji Furuta (known for SHAMAN KING) at animation studio Bridge. Shoji Yonemura is responsible for the series composition, while Yuki Morimoto handles character designs and Alisa Okehazama provides the music.
The series is broadcasting on several Japanese television networks, including Tokyo MX and BS11. For international viewers, Bad Girl is available exclusively on Amazon Prime Video as a paid subscription. The season is expected to run for 12 episodes.
