The BanG Dream! multimedia franchise is set to expand further with a sequel to the Ave Mujica anime, which concluded its initial run on March 27, 2025. This announcement follows the finale of BanG Dream! Ave Mujica, building on the story that began with BanG Dream! It’s MyGO!!!!!.

Ave Mujica Anime Sequel in Production

A new anime is in development that will serve as a direct continuation of both BanG Dream! It’s MyGO!!!!! and Ave Mujica – The Die is Cast. The announcement was made immediately following the airing of the final episode of Ave Mujica. A teaser video accompanying the announcement hints at location shooting in Northern Europe for the new series, suggesting a significant change of scenery for the band.

Production Team

Kōdai Kakimoto and Yuniko Ayana, who were involved in BanG Dream! It’s MyGO!!!!! and Ave Mujica – The Die is Cast, are returning to direct and supervise series scripts, respectively.

BanG Dream! Franchise Overview

BanG Dream!, also known as Bandori!, is a Japanese music media franchise created in January 2015 by Takaaki Kidani, the president of Bushiroad. The project started as a manga and has since grown into a multimedia phenomenon encompassing anime television series, live concerts, singles and albums, VTubers, and the mobile rhythm game BanG Dream! Girls Band Party!.

Premise

The franchise revolves around all-female bands where the members also voice act in the anime and mobile game. As of 2025, the project features ten groups, seven of which are capable of playing their own instruments. Eight bands are featured in the mobile game.

BanG Dream! Girls Band Party!

The BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! mobile rhythm game, developed by Craft Egg and published by Bushiroad, has been a significant part of the franchise’s success. The game was released in Japan in March 2017 and worldwide in April 2018.

The band members include Uika Misumi, Mutsumi Wakaba, Umiri Yahata, and Nyamu Yutenji. The series explores themes of sorrow, death, fear, and love as the band members grapple with their individual burdens and desires.
