The upcoming anime adaptation of Tobirano’s light novel series, “Betrothed to My Sister’s Ex” (Zutaboro Reijō wa Ane no Moto Konyakusha ni Dekiai Sareru), has revealed three new cast members, adding even more depth to its already stellar lineup. The series is set to premiere on July 4, 2025, and excitement is building.
New Cast Members Announced
The official website unveiled the latest additions:
- Tetsuya Kakihara as Toppo: Toppo is the talented chef working at Kyuros’ estate.
- Tatsuyuki Kobayashi as Thomas: Thomas serves as an attendant at Kyuros’ residence.
- Yuka Aisaka as Tunica: Tunica is in charge of the hot bath at Kyuros’ estate.
These characters promise to bring even more charm and intrigue to the story.

Story
“Betrothed to My Sister’s Ex” follows Marie, the neglected younger daughter of Baron Shederan. She’s treated poorly and forced to live a life of servitude. One day, she meets Count Kyuros Granado, a wealthy nobleman, who mistakes her for a maid but is captivated by her nonetheless.
Through a misunderstanding, Kyuros ends up proposing to Marie’s beautiful older sister, Anastasia. Tragedy strikes when Anastasia dies in an accident, and Marie is compelled to take her place as Kyuros’s fiancée. The story explores Marie’s insecurities and her belief that Kyuros actually loved her sister, while Kyuros tries to show her that she is the one he truly desires.
Theme Songs
The opening theme song is “Gesshoku” (Lunar Eclipse) performed by Krage, and the ending theme song is “Marie” by Myuk.
Premiere Details
The anime will premiere on July 4, 2025, airing late at night on MBS, TBS, and CBC, followed by a broadcast on BS-TBS.
Light Novel and Manga
“Betrothed to My Sister’s Ex” began as a web novel on Shōsetsuka ni Narō in October 2019. The light novel series, with illustrations by Mai Murasaki, started publication in April 2020. A manga adaptation by Chikage Nakakura began in July 2020. Both the light novel and manga have been licensed by Seven Seas Entertainment for English release, scheduled to begin in January 2026.
