The highly anticipated anime adaptation of Saka Mikami’s manga, “The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity” (薫る花は凛と咲く, Kaoru Hana wa Rin to Saku), is gearing up for its premiere, and fans are getting even more excited! A brand-new promotional video has dropped, revealing the opening and ending theme songs and confirming the official July 5, 2025 debut date.
Story of Rival Schools
“The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity” is a romantic comedy that tells the story of two neighboring schools with drastically different reputations. Chidori High is a boys’ school known for accepting students with less-than-stellar academic records, while Kikyo Girls’ High is a prestigious academy for daughters from wealthy families. The story centers on Rintaro Tsumugi, a kind-hearted but intimidating-looking student from Chidori High, and Kaoruko Waguri, a student from Kikyo Girls’ High. Their paths cross when Rintaro is working at his family’s bakery, and Kaoruko becomes a customer. Despite their different backgrounds and schools, they quickly form a connection.
Theme Songs Announced
The promotional video revealed the artists behind the anime’s theme songs, adding another layer of excitement for fans. Tatsuya Kitani will be performing the opening theme song, “Manazashi wa Hikari” (The Gaze is a Light). UshioReira will be performing the ending theme song, “Hare no Hi ni” (On This Sunny Day). Snippets of both songs are featured in the trailer, giving fans a taste of what to expect.
Premiere Date and Streaming
The anime is set to premiere on July 5, 2025, on Tokyo MX, Tochigi TV, Gunma TV, and BS 11. For those outside of Japan, “The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity” will be available for streaming on Netflix, although launch dates may vary depending on the region.
Advanced Screening
