Episode 10 of Blue Exorcist: The Blue Night Saga was released on March 9, 2025, and focuses on the aftermath of Yuri Egin’s death and Shiro Fujimoto’s decision to care for Rin and Yukio. The episode explores Shiro’s grief, Lucifer’s descent, and the beginning of Shiro’s journey as a father to the twins.

Shiro Chooses to Live

The episode begins with Shiro Fujimoto’s despair after Yuri’s death. He is attacked by a Yeti and initially loses his will to live. However, he experiences a vision of a young Yuri caring for him, which inspires him to keep living and protect Rin and Yukio. Shiro defeats the Yeti and resolves to raise the twins, acknowledging their right to exist. This scene is highlighted as one of the best in the Blue Exorcist series, showcasing Shiro’s emotional transformation.

The Consequences of the Blue Night

Episode 10 delves into the repercussions of Satan’s actions during the Blue Night. The Asylum has been destroyed, and Lucifer, distraught by Satan’s disappearance and the failure of his possession research, decides to destroy everything.

Mephisto and Shemihaza’s Intervention

Mephisto confronts Lucifer, but can only hold him for twenty seconds. Shemihaza steps in to stop Lucifer, criticizing his hypocrisy and preventing him from unleashing further destruction. Shemihaza survives the encounter, and Mephisto suggests she takes up gardening, showing sincere respect. This intervention sets up a potential future conflict with Lucifer’s ambitions.

Yuri’s Confrontation with Satan in Gehenna

The episode shifts to Gehenna, where Yuri Egin confronts Satan. Satan insults her, claiming that all the events occurred because she didn’t love him. Yuri attempts to explain her desire for understanding between humans and demons, but Satan destroys her before she can finish.

The Aftermath and Future Implications

Blue Exorcist: The Blue Night Saga episode 10 concludes the main events of the Blue Night arc, with Lucifer and Satan defeated and Yuri Egin’s death. The episode also shows the former Exorcist Academy alumni dealing with the aftermath of the Blue Night, and offers glimpses of Shura among other children. Rick’s sacrifice is also addressed. The boy he saved, a surviving Lucifer clone, will become Arthur A. Angel, the Paladin in the current timeline. Igor Neuhaus, who lost his family during the Blue Night, is also shown.
