The highly anticipated original net animation (ONA) Bullet/Bullet, directed by Sunghoo Park of Jujutsu Kaisen fame, has revealed its theme song in a newly released promotional video. Adding to the excitement, the anime is set to premiere in a unique two-part cinema screening format. Here’s everything we know so far about this exciting project:

A Decade in the Making

Bullet/Bullet is a project close to Sunghoo Park’s heart, with the director spending a decade developing the story. Produced by E&H Production and Gaga, the anime promises a unique and thrilling experience.

Premiere and Streaming Details

Bullet/Bullet is scheduled for release on July 16, 2025, and will be available exclusively on Disney+. The anime will consist of 12 episodes, divided into two parts:

  • Part 1: Episodes 1-8 will be available starting July 16, 2025.
  • Part 2: Episodes 9-12 will be released on August 13, 2025.

Synopsis

Set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, Bullet/Bullet follows Gear, a young man working at a junk shop. He teams up with Shirokuma (Polar Bear), a gambling-addicted polar bear, and Qu-0213, a robot with four distinct personalities. Their lives take a turn when a mysterious girl named Noa seeks their help, claiming to be hunted by an assassin and requesting them to steal an item.

The anime boasts a talented cast, bringing the diverse characters to life:

  • Gear: Voiced by Marina Inoue (known for roles in Attack on Titan, Gurren Lagann)
  • Shirokuma (Polar Bear): Voiced by Kazuhiro Yamaji (Attack on Titan, Psycho-Pass)

  • Mayumi Shintani as Brunch.
  • Ai Orikasa as Dinner.
  • Shinichiro Kamio as Sushimaru Tempura.
  • Hironori Kondo as Destro Inu (Destro Dog).
  • Yuichi Nakamura as Batting Center Saitō.

Production Team

Bullet/Bullet is brought to life by a skilled production team:

  • Director: Sunghoo Park (Jujutsu Kaisen, The God of High School)
  • Series Composition & Screenplay: Aki Kindaichi (Uma Musume: Cinderella Gray)
  • Character Design & Chief Animation Director: Takahiro Yoshimatsu (Hunter x Hunter, Overlord)
  • Concept & Mechanical Design: Hidetaka Tenjin
  • Car Action Director: Shin Misawa (Initial D)
  • Art Director: Fumitaka Akai
  • Music: Hiroaki Tsutsumi

What to Expect

Bullet/Bullet promises a thrilling narrative set in a visually stunning post-apocalyptic world. With Sunghoo Park’s direction and a talented team, the anime is poised to deliver a unique and engaging experience, blending action, mystery, and complex characters. The combination of human characters, anthropomorphic animals, and robots suggests a world where the lines between species and technology are blurred, leading to intriguing dynamics and social commentary. The theme of using relics from the past could also explore themes of nostalgia, memory, and the impact of past events on the present.
