Fans of the nocturnal supernatural romance “Call of the Night” are eagerly anticipating the next installment of its second season. Call of the Night Season 2 Episode 4 is scheduled to premiere on Friday, July 25, 2025.

The anime, based on Kotoyama’s manga series, delves into the unique relationship between insomniac Ko Yamori and the vampire Nazuna Nanakusa, as Ko seeks to become a vampire himself.

Release Date and Streaming Platforms

Call of the Night Season 2 Episode 4 will be released on Friday, July 25, 2025. New episodes of Call of the Night Season 2 are scheduled to premiere on Fridays at 9:00 a.m. PDT / 12:00 p.m. EDT.

For international viewers, HIDIVE has acquired the streaming rights for the season, making episodes available shortly after their Japanese broadcast. Other platforms such as ABEMA, FOD/TVer, Crunchyroll, and Prime Video may also stream the episode.

Season 2 Overview and Plot Details

Call of the Night Season 2 officially premiered on July 4, 2025. The season will consist of 12 episodes. The anime continues to explore Ko Yamori’s journey to become a vampire, which hinges on him falling in love with Nazuna Nanakusa within a year.

Season 2 is expected to pick up where the first season left off, focusing on Ko and Nazuna’s evolving relationship and introducing new challenges and character developments. Notably, the season will delve into Nazuna’s past with the introduction of new characters like Haru Nanakusa, a nurse who is key to unlocking Nazuna’s hidden history. Viewers can also expect to learn more about Kabura’s origin story, as showcased in Episode 4, and witness Ko’s continued education in the ways of becoming a vampire.

Returning Staff and New Cast Members

The production of Call of the Night Season 2 sees the return of key staff members from the first season, ensuring continuity in its distinctive style and storytelling. Tomoyuki Itamura returns as director, overseeing the anime at LIDENFILMS. Michiko Yokote is responsible for the scripts, Haruka Sagawa for character designs, and Yoshiaki Dewa for the music. Izumi Takizawa and Nao Miyoshi join as assistant directors.

New additions to the voice cast include Maaya Uchida as Haru Nanakusa and Rina Satou as Kiku Hoshimi, a seductive woman who forms a connection with Ko’s friend Mahiru.

The Manga’s Conclusion and Anime Adaptation

The Call of the Night manga, written and illustrated by Kotoyama, concluded its serialization in January 2024 with its 200th chapter, spanning a total of 20 volumes. The first season of the anime adapted the manga up to Chapter 46 of Volume 5. While the anime generally covers the core story events, some smaller details and nuances from the manga were skipped. Fans interested in diving deeper into the story and character motivations can pick up the manga from Chapter 47, or even from Chapter 35 for a more comprehensive experience.
