Fans of the nocturnal romance “Call of the Night” have been eagerly diving back into the shadowy world of Ko Yamori and Nazuna Nanakusa with the recently released second season. Officially confirmed in March 2024, Call of the Night Season 2 premiered on July 4, 2025, bringing more supernatural adventures and deepening mysteries to the forefront. For those tracking the weekly releases, Episode 11 has already aired, continuing the unfolding narrative.

The Return of the Night: Season 2 Confirmed and Premiered

The announcement of a second season was met with considerable excitement across the anime community, with a teaser visual and video unveiled in March 2024. Directed by Tomoyuki Itamura at Studio LIDEN FILMS, with Michiko Yokote on scripts and Haruka Sagawa on character designs, the core creative team behind the first season returned to continue the beloved adaptation of Kotoyama’s manga. The new season officially began its broadcast in July 2025, airing on Fuji TV’s Noitamina block and other affiliate channels in Japan. International audiences can stream the episodes on HIDIVE, with new installments arriving every Friday.

The second season is anticipated to run for 12 episodes, offering a similar length to its 13-episode predecessor. The narrative delves deeper into Ko Yamori’s journey to understand vampires and his evolving relationship with Nazuna Nanakusa, introducing new characters like Haru Nanakusa, a nurse with a significant connection to Nazuna’s past, and teasing the “Cigarette Case Arc”.

As Call of the Night Season 2 progresses, viewers can anticipate a continuation of the captivating storyline, marked by unexpected twists and significant character developments. The second season explores emotional revelations and further expands the complex world of the night, building on the foundation laid by the original manga, which concluded its serialization in January 2024 with 20 volumes. A short story series, Call of the Night: Paradise Arc, also ran from July to August 2025. The anime’s ongoing narrative promises to delve deeper into the intricate relationships and supernatural elements that define the series, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats with each weekly release.
