The anime adaptation of Kenta Shinohara’s Witch Watch manga has unveiled the cast and theme songs for its in-story anime series, “Uron Mirage.” This fictional series, a favorite of characters Kukumi Ureshino and Yuri Makuwa within the Witch Watch universe, received a special 10-minute fully animated segment in Witch Watch‘s 14th episode, titled “Uron Mirage: Episode 119 ‘The Fuzzy Hunt, Part 4’,” which aired on July 6.
Voice Cast of “Uron Mirage”
The “Uron Mirage” segment featured a dedicated voice cast for its characters:
- Ryoko Shiraishi as Utsuro Akizuki.
- Hiroyuki Yoshino as Oboro Namisaki.
- Hiro Shimono as Sagiri Kusama.
- Tomokazu Sugita as Zack Balan.
- Hochu Otsuka as Fuwa.
- Ami Koshimizu as Honoka Shirafuji.
Notably, a previous voice comic adaptation of “Uron Mirage” in June 2022, as part of the manga’s volume 6 celebration, featured different voice actors including Shōya Chiba, Ryōta Suzuki, Yūichirō Umehara, and Tomokazu Sugita. However, the full anime adaptation within Witch Watch features the newly announced cast.
Theme Songs of “Uron Mirage”
Original theme songs were specifically produced for this special “Uron Mirage” animated segment:
- Opening Theme: “Bitter end” performed by Who-ya Extended. Who-ya Extended expressed excitement about contributing to “Uron Mirage,” aiming to blend coolness with playfulness in “Bitter end” to fit the “Uro-Mira” episode.
- Ending Theme: “FLASHBACK SYNDROME” performed by ALI. ALI shared their honor in creating the ending theme, describing it as one of their most challenging productions, exploring themes of stepping into and returning from a fictional world.
This dedicated animation and original music for an in-universe series mark a unique production choice for the Witch Watch anime.
