Studio MAPPA, the animation powerhouse behind the acclaimed first season of the “Chainsaw Man” anime, returns to produce the “Reze Arc” film. Tatsuya Yoshihara, who previously directed episodes of the TV anime, is at the helm as director, with Hiroshi Seko returning to pen the script. The original voice cast from the anime series reprises their roles, with Reina Ueda joining as the voice of Reze.
While the film launched in Japan today, September 19, 2025, distributed by Toho, its global rollout by Crunchyroll through Sony Pictures Releasing will commence on September 24 in select Asian markets. The movie will then expand to over 80 countries, with its U.S. premiere set for October 24. Special screenings in MX4D, 4DX, and Dolby Cinema are also planned in various territories.
