The upcoming TV anime adaptation of Yuji Iwahara’s manga, Clevatess, has released its second promotional video, revealing additional cast members, staff details, and a preview of the opening theme song. The anime, titled Clevatess: Majū no Ō to Akago to Shikabane no Yūsha (Clevatess: The King of Magical Beasts, the Baby, and the Corpse Hero), is set to premiere in July 2025.

The second promotional video revealed seven new cast members, expanding the ensemble of characters in the anime.

Opening Theme Song
The promotional video also offers the first listen to the anime’s opening theme song, “Ruler,” performed by Mayu Maeshima. Maeshima is known for her previous work on theme songs for anime series such as Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- and Overlord.

The anime is directed by Kiyotaka Taguchi, who also served as a kaiju designer for SSSS.Dynazenon. Keigo Koyanagi is in charge of series scripts, Souichirou Sako is designing the characters, and Nobuaki Nobusawa is composing the music. The animation is being produced by Lay-duce.

Story Overview
Clevatess is a fantasy series that follows Alicia, a young woman who dreams of becoming a hero. She is chosen as one of thirteen heroes tasked with defeating the Demon Lord, Clevatess. However, their actions inadvertently lead to a crisis that could wipe out humanity. The world’s last hope rests on a baby entrusted to Clevatess.
Plot Summary
Alicia, who has aspired to be a brave hero since she was little, is chosen by the king as one of the thirteen heroes. Armed with legendary swords, the heroes set out to defeat the Demon King Clevatess. However, their recklessness triggers a terrible crisis that could wipe out all of humanity on the continent of Edsea. Now, the world’s only hope lies with a baby entrusted to the Demon King.
Manga Origins
The original Clevatess manga by Yuji Iwahara began publishing on the LINE Manga vertical web platform in August 2020.
