Clevatess Episode 5, titled “Boelate’s March,” aired on July 30, 2025, and brought significant plot developments, revealing deeper layers of the world’s political landscape and Alicia’s personal history. The episode sees Clen and his companions preparing to leave the bandit hideout and introduces new characters and escalating conflicts.

Aftermath at the Bandit Hideout

Following their confrontation with the bandit group “Karasu (Raven),” Clen and his allies are ready to depart. Alicia, whose “Waterfall Cutter” was previously confiscated by Clen, learns of a sword in Broco’s room and sets out to retrieve it. In her search, she discovers not only the sword but also a cache of gold and a leather cuirass. Her discovery is interrupted by Clen’s abrupt entry into the room.

New Alliances and Unsettling Revelations

A major development in this episode is the introduction of Gart, a powerful Dark Beast capable of maintaining a human form, similar to Clevatess. Gart initially seeks out the Raven leader to investigate rumors of magic use, but mistakenly identifies Klen as the gifted mage upon his arrival. Their ensuing confrontation de-escalates into a surprisingly informative discussion.

A shocking twist occurs when Gart reveals himself to be an envoy of another Dark Beast Lord, suggested to be on par with Clevatess in power. This expands the scope of the world and hints at a larger hierarchy among the Dark Beasts.

Alicia’s Past Unveiled

Episode 5 delivers a significant personal revelation for Alicia: Drel is identified as the individual responsible for her father’s death. Alicia recalls her father’s dying wish, which was to eliminate the Dark Beasts, implying a deeper connection or purpose Drel might have with them. While Clevatess may possess more information about Drel, he keeps it to himself. This revelation firmly establishes Drel as Clevatess’s primary antagonist, setting the course for future plotlines.

The Hunt for Luna Intensifies

The human armies become aware of Luna’s survival, which is poised to instigate further conflict for the protagonists. Drel, upon learning Luna’s last known location, dispatches a powerful wizard named Meynard to pursue the child, indicating the escalating danger surrounding Luna.

Broader Implications and Future Conflicts

“Boelate’s March” serves as a foundational episode, providing significant world-building and exposition for upcoming storylines. The episode highlights a growing conspiracy involving the disappearance of humanoid babies, as well as Orklings and other beastly children, in Zavthier’s territory. This suggests a grim overarching plot that is likely to unfold with bloody consequences.

The series continues to showcase confident storytelling by developing an initial self-contained adventure while simultaneously laying groundwork for a larger narrative. The revelation of Alicia’s father’s killer, the introduction of a new powerful Dark Beast, and the renewed hunt for Luna all contribute to a heightened sense of urgency and foreshadow major conflicts to come.

Clevatess Episode 5 aired in Japan on July 30, 2025, at 11:00 PM JST and is available on streaming platforms like Crunchyroll. The series is planned for a 12-episode season.
