Crunchyroll has expanded its collection of One Piece feature films with the addition of three more titles: One Piece: Episode of Alabasta – The Desert Princess and the Pirates, One Piece Film: Strong World, and One Piece Film: Z. The new films became available on the streaming platform as of August 14, 2025, significantly bolstering its One Piece movie library.
New Additions to the Straw Hat Saga
The three newly added films represent key moments in the One Piece cinematic universe, ranging from a condensed retelling of a beloved arc to original, high-stakes adventures. All three movies are available in Japanese with English subtitles and English dubs.
One Piece: Episode of Alabasta – The Desert Princess and the Pirates
Released in March 2007, One Piece: Episode of Alabasta – The Desert Princess and the Pirates is the eighth film in the One Piece franchise. It offers a condensed cinematic retelling of the popular Alabasta Arc from the anime series, allowing fans to revisit the Straw Hat Pirates’ efforts to save Princess Vivi’s kingdom. Its addition is particularly timely as the One Piece live-action series gears up for its second season, which is expected to cover the Alabasta saga.
One Piece Film: Strong World
The tenth film in the franchise, One Piece Film: Strong World, originally premiered in Japan in December 2009. This film features an original story where the Straw Hat Pirates return to the East Blue and find themselves in a confrontation with the legendary pirate Shiki, who kidnaps Nami. It is considered one of the highest-rated One Piece films.
One Piece Film: Z
Released in Japan in December 2012, One Piece Film: Z introduces a formidable new antagonist: former Marine Admiral “Z.” The plot revolves around the theft of the “Dyna Stones,” a powerful weapon comparable to the Ancient Weapons, by Z and his rogue vigilante crew. Luffy and the Straw Hats must confront Z to prevent him from enacting his plan to bring the New World to an end. Like Strong World, Film Z is highly regarded by fans.
Expanding Crunchyroll’s One Piece Film Catalog
With these latest additions, Crunchyroll now boasts six of the fifteen One Piece films available for streaming. Prior to this announcement, Crunchyroll already offered other popular One Piece movies, including One Piece Film: Gold, One Piece Stampede, and One Piece Film: Red. These three films were added to the platform in July 2023.
One Piece Film: Red, which premiered in 2022, holds the distinction of being the highest-grossing film in the One Piece franchise and the sixth highest-grossing anime film globally to date. The continuous expansion of Crunchyroll’s One Piece movie library complements its extensive collection of over 1,000 One Piece anime episodes, many of which also feature English dubs. While some of the newly added films may be available on other streaming services in Western regions, their inclusion on Crunchyroll offers a more centralized viewing experience for dedicated One Piece fans.
