Crunchyroll has announced the addition of three new anime series to its streaming catalog: With You and the Rain, Otherworldly Munchkin: Let’s Speedrun the Dungeon with Only 1 HP, and Let’s Play. These series promise a diverse range of genres and stories, catering to different anime fan preferences.

With You and the Rain

With You and the Rain (Japanese title: Ame to Kimi to) is based on the comedy manga by Kō Nikaido. The anime is directed by Tomohiro Tsukimisato at Lesprit studio. Tōko Machida is in charge of series scripts, and Ayano Ōwada is designing the characters. The series is scheduled to premiere in July 2025 and will air on TV Asahi and its 23 affiliate channels as part of the “NUMAnimation” programming block. Crunchyroll will stream the series worldwide, excluding Asia, but including India and Southeast Asia.

Synopsis

The story begins on a rainy day when Fuji encounters a strange animal that looks like a dog. This “dog” holds up an umbrella and a cue card that reads, “Please take me home.” Intrigued by the creature’s cleverness, Fuji decides to take it in. The series follows their heartwarming adventures, showcasing the unique friendship and the changing seasons they experience together.

Kodansha USA Publishing, which releases the manga digitally in English, describes the story with a touch of humor: “If it looks like a dog and acts like a dog and insists it’s a dog, it’s…a dog? Probably? She adopted it anyway, and her life with this “dog” will never be boring!”

The anime is scheduled to premiere in October 2025. Crunchyroll will stream the series in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Oceania, the Middle East, North Africa, and India.

Synopsis

The story revolves around Yukito Kirihara, a 16-year-old who deeply cherishes his 14-year-old sister, Sana. When an ogre appears and threatens Sana, Yukito sacrifices himself to save her. A mysterious woman then offers him a chance at reincarnation, providing him with a character sheet in a mysterious book. Discovering that Sana is also in this new world, Yukito embarks on a perilous journey to find and save her, despite having only 1 HP (hit point).

Let’s Play

Let’s Play is an anime adaptation of the romantic comedy webcomic series by Leeanne M. Krecic (also known as Mongie). The anime is being produced by OLM studio and is scheduled to premiere in 2025. Crunchyroll will stream the series in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS, India, and Southeast Asia.

Synopsis

The story centers on Samara “Sam” Young, a young game developer in Los Angeles who is on the verge of achieving her dream with her first video game, Ruminate. However, her world is turned upside down when a popular streamer gives her game a scathing review. To make matters worse, she discovers that the troublesome critic is her new neighbor. The series follows Sam’s journey through the ups and downs of her career and her complicated relationship with her critic-turned-neighbor, exploring themes of gaming, memes, and social anxiety.

WEBTOON describes the story as: “She’s young, single and about to achieve her dream of creating incredible videogames. But then life throws her a one-two punch: a popular streamer gives her first game a scathing review. Even worse she finds out that same troublesome critic is now her new neighbor! A funny, sexy and all-too-real story about gaming, memes and social anxiety. Come for the plot, stay for the doggo.”
