Exploring the Premise of SHIBOYUGI
Based on the popular light novel series by Yushi Akai and Nekometal, SHIBOYUGI: Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table introduces viewers to Yuki, a 17-year-old who makes her living as a professional “death gamer.” The story begins when Yuki awakens in an unfamiliar manor, clad in a maid uniform, alongside five other girls. They soon discover they are trapped in the “Ghost House,” a perilous environment filled with deadly traps, blowguns, buzz saws, and locked rooms, forcing them into a series of survival games.
Unlike the other terrified participants, Yuki approaches the situation with a calm, almost professional demeanor, as playing death games is her career. Yen Press publishes the official English version of the original light novel series, offering a thrilling description of the premise.
