Experience the Undead Idols’ Big Screen Debut
The Zombie Land Saga: Yumeginga Paradise film marks the first feature-length installment in the popular Zombie Land Saga franchise. It directly continues the narrative after the second season of the anime, Zombie Land Saga Revenge, promising to deliver the series’ signature blend of idol drama, comedic zombie antics, and heartfelt character development. While the dialogue will be in English, all musical performances within the film will retain their original Japanese with English subtitles.
Tickets for the screening are currently on sale through Fandango in the U.S. and Cineplex in Canada.
What is Zombie Land Saga: Yumeginga Paradise About?
The film’s plot expands the scope of the beloved series significantly. Set in 2025, the story revolves around the Saga Expo, where the zombie idol group Franchouchou is appointed as ambassadors. However, their plans for a grand live performance at the SAGA Arena are dramatically interrupted by a sudden, full-scale alien invasion of Saga Prefecture.
Amidst the chaos, the legendary Tae Yamada, the only zombie who had not regained her self-awareness, reportedly “awakens” and takes a crucial role in confronting the extraterrestrial threat. The movie explores whether the splintered Franchouchou can reunite, restore their bonds, and ultimately save Saga—and the world—from this unprecedented crisis.
Returning Cast and Production Details
The film brings back the familiar and beloved voice cast from the Zombie Land Saga television series. Key English dub cast members include Ricco Fajardo as Kotaro Tatsumi, Brina Palencia as Sakura Minamoto, and Dawn M. Bennett as Tae Yamada. The film also features Daisuke Ono as a new character, Naomasa Amabuki.
Animation studio MAPPA, known for its high-quality productions, is once again handling the animation. The film is co-directed by Takeru Sato and Takafumi Ishida, with chief direction by Kōnosuke Uda, and the screenplay is by Shigeru Murakoshi. The in-story idol group Franchouchou performs the theme song “Matataku Sora ni Akogarete (Yearning for the Twinkling Sky).”
The movie originally premiered in Japan on October 24, 2025, and has since garnered critical acclaim, including winning the Audience Award and a Special President’s Award at the Bucheon International Animation Film Festival.
