Crunchyroll, in collaboration with Sony Pictures Entertainment, is bringing a special compilation film titled “Sink Your Teeth: A Tokyo Ghoul Celebration” to select U.S. theaters for a one-day-only event on Monday, July 21, 2025. This theatrical release offers fans a unique opportunity to experience key moments from the acclaimed first season of the Tokyo Ghoul anime on the big screen.

Event Details and Featured Episodes

The “Sink Your Teeth: A Tokyo Ghoul Celebration” compilation film runs for approximately 147 minutes and features six curated episodes from Season 1 of the Tokyo Ghoul anime. The selected episodes include Episode 1, 5, 8, 10, 11, and 12, focusing on the pivotal moments of Ken Kaneki’s transformation and introduction to the ghoul world. The screening will be available with both an English dub and in Japanese with English subtitles, catering to a wide audience of fans.

The Legacy of Tokyo Ghoul

Tokyo Ghoul, based on the manga series by Sui Ishida, follows the dark and compelling story of Ken Kaneki, a quiet college student whose life irrevocably changes after a fateful encounter transforms him into a human-ghoul hybrid. The series delves into a world where ghouls, human-like creatures surviving on human flesh, coexist in a tense and often violent relationship with humans. Kaneki finds himself caught between these two worlds, navigating his new existence and searching for his place within this brutal society.

The anime, directed by Shuhei Morita and produced by Studio Pierrot, first gained widespread popularity upon its release in 2014. This special theatrical event coincides with the anime’s 10th anniversary, further celebrating its enduring impact on the anime community. All three seasons of Tokyo Ghoul, including Tokyo Ghoul √A and Tokyo Ghoul:re, along with OVAs, are available to stream on Crunchyroll. Tickets for “Sink Your Teeth: A Tokyo Ghoul Celebration” are currently on sale through various ticketing platforms.
