The new season is expected to adapt the “Evil Eye Arc” from the original manga, which is highly regarded by fans. A Recap of Season 1’s Wild Ride
DAN DA DAN centers on Momo Ayase, a high school girl from a family of spirit mediums who believes in ghosts but not aliens, and her classmate Ken Takakura, nicknamed Okarun, an occult enthusiast who believes in aliens but not ghosts. Their conflicting beliefs lead them to a bet where they visit locations associated with each phenomenon – Momo goes to an abandoned hospital known for UFO sightings, while Okarun explores a haunted tunnel.
This bet catapults them into a world where both aliens and spirits are very real and exceptionally bizarre. Momo is abducted by aliens who inadvertently unlock her latent psychic abilities, while Okarun becomes possessed by the perverted spirit of Turbo Granny. They soon discover their newfound powers allow them to combat these supernatural entities.
Throughout Season 1, Momo and Okarun navigate a series of chaotic encounters, including battles with alien invaders, dealing with Turbo Granny’s curse, and forming alliances with other supernaturally-gifted individuals like Aira Shiratori and Momo’s childhood friend, Jiji Enjoji. The season concluded on a cliffhanger, with Momo, Okarun, and Jiji heading to Jiji’s hometown to confront evil spirits. Season 2 promises to continue this unique blend of action, comedy, horror, and budding romance.
