The highly anticipated second season of the popular anime series DAN DA DAN officially premiered on July 3, 2025, bringing back the quirky blend of aliens, ghosts, and high school drama. Fans can now dive back into the bizarre adventures of Momo Ayase and Ken Takakura (Okarun) with new episodes releasing weekly.

The series is available to stream on Crunchyroll, Netflix, and Hulu, with new episodes dropping every Thursday. The premiere comes after a special compilation film, DAN DA DAN: Evil Eye, which combined the Season 1 finale and the first three episodes of Season 2, offering an early look for some viewers.

Where to Watch DAN DA DAN Season 2

New episodes of DAN DA DAN Season 2 are released weekly on Thursdays. Viewers in the United States can catch them at 9:00 AM Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) / 12:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time (EDT).

The primary streaming platforms for the series include:

  • Crunchyroll
  • Netflix
  • Hulu

English subtitles are available immediately upon release, with English dubs expected to follow at a later date.

What to Expect in Season 2: The Evil Eye Arc

Season 2 picks up directly from the conclusion of the first season, which ended in December 2024. The narrative will continue to follow Momo and Okarun as they delve deeper into the mysteries surrounding Jiji’s haunted house and confront the Kitō family.

The new season is expected to adapt the “Evil Eye Arc” from the original manga, which is highly regarded by fans. Trailers for Season 2 have highlighted intense battles, particularly featuring Jiji possessed by the Evil Eye. AiNA THE END performs the new opening song for the season, titled “Kakumei Dochu” (“On the Way”).

A Recap of Season 1’s Wild Ride

DAN DA DAN centers on Momo Ayase, a high school girl from a family of spirit mediums who believes in ghosts but not aliens, and her classmate Ken Takakura, nicknamed Okarun, an occult enthusiast who believes in aliens but not ghosts. Their conflicting beliefs lead them to a bet where they visit locations associated with each phenomenon – Momo goes to an abandoned hospital known for UFO sightings, while Okarun explores a haunted tunnel.

This bet catapults them into a world where both aliens and spirits are very real and exceptionally bizarre. Momo is abducted by aliens who inadvertently unlock her latent psychic abilities, while Okarun becomes possessed by the perverted spirit of Turbo Granny. They soon discover their newfound powers allow them to combat these supernatural entities.

Throughout Season 1, Momo and Okarun navigate a series of chaotic encounters, including battles with alien invaders, dealing with Turbo Granny’s curse, and forming alliances with other supernaturally-gifted individuals like Aira Shiratori and Momo’s childhood friend, Jiji Enjoji. The season concluded on a cliffhanger, with Momo, Okarun, and Jiji heading to Jiji’s hometown to confront evil spirits. Season 2 promises to continue this unique blend of action, comedy, horror, and budding romance.
