New Promotional Video and Visual Highlights Digital Hauntings
The latest promotional video offers fans a deeper look into the anime’s animation style and the supernatural digital world it portrays. Alongside the video, a new key visual was also unveiled, providing a vibrant glimpse into the series’ aesthetic. The visual and trailer aim to build anticipation for the modern-day occult exorcism battle story.
The Premise of “Dead Account”
“Dead Account” is based on Shizumu Watanabe’s manga, which began serialization in Weekly Shōnen Magazine in January 2023 before moving to Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket app later that year. The story is set in a world where lingering regrets allow the social media profiles of the deceased to persist online as “digital ghosts” called Bake Aka.
The narrative follows 15-year-old streamer Soji Enishiro, known online as “Aoringo,” who creates provocative content to fund his younger sister’s medical treatment. After a fateful encounter with a virtual ghost, Soji gains spiritual abilities and enrolls in Miden Academy, a specialized school for exorcists who combat these digital hauntings. The series promises intense modern-style exorcism battles.
Production Team and Creative Minds
The anime is being produced by Synergy SP, with Keiya Saitō (known for Rokudo’s Bad Girls) directing the series. Mitsutaka Hirota (Edens Zero, Rent-A-Girlfriend) is in charge of the series scripts, ensuring the adaptation stays true to the manga’s compelling storyline. The musical score will be composed by Keiji Inai (Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?) at Nippon Columbia. Ryōsuke Naya serves as the sound director, Haruka Serizawa as director of photography, Eitarō Ano for color design, and Yūsuke Ueno for editing. Seika Fujii and Saho Yamane are credited as art directors.
Theme Song Artists Yet to Be Announced
While the new promotional video revealed extensive details about the cast and premiere, specific artists performing the opening and ending theme songs for the “Dead Account” anime have not yet been disclosed. Fans await further announcements regarding the musical contributions to the series.
