The highly anticipated first film in the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle trilogy has unveiled its latest trailer, confirming that renowned artists Aimer and LiSA will contribute theme songs. The trailer, which debuted following a rebroadcast of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train on Fuji TV in Japan, offers a deeper look into the cinematic adaptation of the manga’s climactic final arc.
A Musical Reunion for a Climactic Saga
Both Aimer and LiSA are celebrated for their significant contributions to the Demon Slayer franchise’s musical landscape. LiSA, a cornerstone of the series’ sound, is set to perform the theme song “Zankoku no Yoru ni Kagayake” (“Shine in the Cruel Night”). Her previous works for the anime include the iconic opening theme “Gurenge” for Season 1, “Homura” for Demon Slayer: Mugen Train, and “Akeboshi” and “Shirogane” for the Mugen Train Arc TV adaptation.
Aimer will contribute “Taiyō ga Noboranai Sekai” (“A World Where the Sun Never Rises”) to the film. She previously lent her voice to the Entertainment District Arc with the opening theme “Zankyosanka” and ending theme “Asa ga Kuru,” making her debut with two tracks in the franchise. Their return for the Infinity Castle trilogy underscores their integral role in defining the series’ emotional and action-packed moments through music. Both new theme songs are slated for release on global streaming platforms on July 18, 2025.
The Infinity Castle Trilogy: A Grand Finale
The Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle film marks the beginning of a three-part cinematic saga designed to adapt the manga’s “Final Battle Arc.” Unlike previous compilation films, the Infinity Castle arc is being adapted as a feature-length trilogy due to its extensive content and dramatic pacing, akin to the highly successful Mugen Train film.
The first film, officially titled Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle – Akaza Sairai (The Return of Akaza), is scheduled to premiere in Japan on July 18, 2025. It will be released on a record 443 screens across Japan, including IMAX screenings. Aniplex aims for a wide international release, targeting over 150 countries and regions, surpassing the franchise’s previous world tour.
Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment will distribute the film internationally, with theatrical releases beginning on various dates in August and September 2025. For instance, North American audiences in the United States and Canada can expect the film to open on September 12, 2025, in both Japanese with English subtitles and an English dub, including IMAX and other premium large formats.
Haruo Sotozaki is directing the anime at ufotable, with ufotable also credited for the screenplay. Akira Matsushima serves as character designer and chief animation director, and the music is composed by Yuki Kajiura and Go Shiina.
The Infinity Castle arc is a direct continuation of the Hashira Training Arc and plunges Tanjiro Kamado and the Demon Slayer Corps into a mysterious space, the demons’ stronghold, following Muzan Kibutsuji’s assault on the Ubuyashiki Mansion. This trilogy promises to delve deeply into character arcs, final battles, and long-awaited revelations, setting the stage for the ultimate confrontation between the Demon Slayer Corps and Muzan Kibutsuji.
