The highly anticipated first film in the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle trilogy has unveiled its main trailer, confirming that renowned artists Aimer and LiSA will contribute theme songs. The trailer, which offers a glimpse into the climactic final arc of the beloved anime, precedes the film’s Japanese premiere on July 18, 2025, and its global rollout beginning in August.

A Musical Reunion for a Climactic Saga

Aimer will perform the theme song “A World Where the Sun Never Rises” (Taiyō ga Noboranai Sekai), while LiSA will perform “Shine in the Cruel Night” (Zankoku no Yoru ni Kagayake). Both artists are deeply ingrained in the Demon Slayer franchise’s musical identity. LiSA’s iconic “Gurenge” served as the first opening theme for the anime series, and she also performed “Homura” for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train, which became an award-winning hit. Aimer made her debut in the franchise with “Zankyōsanka” and “Asa ga Kuru” for the Entertainment District Arc. Their return for the Infinity Castle film underscores the significant emotional and narrative weight of this new cinematic installment. Both new theme songs are set to be available on global streaming platforms starting July 18, 2025.

The Dawn of the Final Battle

The Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle film, officially subtitled “Akaza’s Return” (Akaza Sairai), marks the beginning of a three-part cinematic adaptation of Koyoharu Gotouge’s “Infinity Castle” arc, which encompasses the concluding chapters of the manga series. The story plunges Tanjiro Kamado and the Demon Slayer Corps into the treacherous, shape-shifting Infinity Castle, the stronghold of Muzan Kibutsuji, setting the stage for the final, intense battle against the demons.

The trailer teases major confrontations, including the highly anticipated fight between Giyu Tomioka and Tanjiro Kamado versus Akaza, as well as Shinobu’s encounter with the demon responsible for her sister’s death, and Zenitsu’s confrontation with Kaigaku. Directed by Haruo Sotozaki at studio Ufotable, with Akira Matsushima as Chief Animation Director and Character Designer, and music by Yuki Kajiura and Go Shiina, the film aims to deliver the series’ signature blend of action and emotional depth.

International Release Schedule

Following its Japanese premiere on July 18, 2025, the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle will begin its global theatrical release. Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment are spearheading the international distribution. North American audiences in the United States and Canada can expect the film to hit theaters on September 12, 2025, with both Japanese audio and English subtitles, as well as English dubbed versions available.

Other key international release dates include:

  • August 12: Thailand
  • August 14: Hong Kong, Malaysia, Pakistan, Singapore
  • August 15: Cambodia, Indonesia, Vietnam
  • August 20: Philippines
  • September 11: Mexico, Chile, Peru, Argentina, Australia, New Zealand, and various other regions in South and Central America, and parts of Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
  • September 12: India, Mongolia, Spain, United Kingdom, and more.
  • September 17: Belgium, France, Luxembourg, and French-speaking Switzerland.
  • September 18: Austria, Germany, Moldova, and German-speaking Switzerland.
  • September 25: Austria, Germany, Switzerland (German-speaking)

The decision to adapt the “Infinity Castle” arc into a feature-length film trilogy, rather than a compilation, highlights the arc’s extensive content and dramatic pacing, drawing parallels to the successful Mugen Train film. This cinematic approach ensures a comprehensive and immersive experience for fans as the Demon Slayer Corps embarks on its final, perilous mission.
