An English clip from the upcoming Devil May Cry animated series has been revealed, offering fans a sneak peek at the highly anticipated show before its Netflix debut. The series, based on the popular video game franchise by Capcom, is set to premiere on April 3, 2025, promising to bring Dante’s demon-hunting adventures to a new audience.

New Clip Showcases Action and Voice Acting

The newly released clip was showcased during IGN Fan Fest 2025. It features a glimpse of the action-packed animation and provides a taste of the English voice acting, including Johnny Yong Bosch as Dante. The stream also included an interview with series creator Adi Shankar and Bosch.

Production Details and Release

  • Release Date: April 3, 2025
  • Network: Netflix
  • Production Studio: Studio Mir, known for their work on The Legend of Korra, X-Men ’97, and more.
  • Executive Producers: Adi Shankar, Hideaki Itsuno, and Seung Wook Lee
  • Writer: Alex Larsen
  • Number of Episodes: 8 in the first season

The series was first announced in late 2018 by Adi Shankar, who is also known for his work on the Castlevania animated series. Shankar has stated that Devil May Cry will join Castlevania in what he is calling the “bootleg multiverse.”

Johnny Yong Bosch Takes on the Role of Dante

Johnny Yong Bosch, known for voicing Nero in the Devil May Cry video games, will be taking on the role of Dante in the animated series. This casting choice is notable as Reuben Langdon, the longtime voice actor for Dante in the games, was not asked to reprise his role.

Theme Song and Opening Sequence

The opening sequence for the Devil May Cry anime features the song “Rollin'” by Limp Bizkit. The choice of song has been met with mixed reactions, but some have noted that the song’s nu-metal sound fits well with the series’ early 2000s origins and over-the-top action.

A Previous Animated Adaptation

This isn’t the first time Devil May Cry has been adapted into an animated series. In 2007, Madhouse produced a 12-episode anime series titled Devil May Cry: The Animated Series, which is set sometime between Devil May Cry and Devil May Cry 2.
