Tokyo, Japan — Yakinikuteishoku’s popular yuri manga series, Does It Count If You Lose Your Virginity to an Android? (Japanese: アンドロイドは経験人数に入りますか??, Andoroido wa Keiken Ninzū ni Hairimasu ka??), is set to conclude its serialization in three chapters. The announcement was made in the December issue of Ichijinsha’s Comic Yuri Hime magazine, marking the impending end of the quirky romantic comedy.
The End of an Engaging Sci-Fi Yuri Romance
The final chapters will bring to a close the story that has captivated readers since its launch in Comic Yuri Hime in July 2021. The series has gained a dedicated following for its unique premise and engaging characters. Seven Seas Entertainment, the English-language publisher, has been releasing the manga in North America, with the sixth volume scheduled for release on December 30.
Exploring Love and Loneliness with an Android
The manga centers on Akane Tsuda, a 28-year-old office worker who appears outwardly capable and respected in the planning department of a major electronics manufacturer. However, her private life is far from organized; her apartment is a mess, and she struggles with loneliness and a drinking habit, having never had a boyfriend.
In a moment of drunken vulnerability and solitude, Akane purchases an android for companionship, named Nadeko. What she receives is more than just a cleaning assistant: a beautiful, “horny hottie” android who offers Akane more “service” than she initially bargained for, leading to an unexpected romantic comedy. The series is categorized under romantic comedy, science fiction, and yuri (girls’ love) genres, exploring themes of human connection, intimacy, and the blurring lines between human and artificial relationships.
Anime Adaptation Still on the Horizon
Despite the manga’s impending conclusion, fans can still look forward to an animated adaptation. A short-form anime television series, produced by Nyan Pollution-ω-, is scheduled to premiere in January 2026. The anime will further bring Akane and Nadeko’s story to life, directed and written by Neko B, with character designs by Mitsuru Tsukiumi and music by ZincP. The announcement of the anime adaptation was made on May 13, 2025, by WWWave Corporation’s Deregula anime label.
