The staff for Dr. Stone: Science Future, the fourth and final season of the popular Dr. Stone anime series, has announced that Yuki Sakakihara will join the cast. Sakakihara is set to voice the character Joel, a skilled young watchmaker, and his debut will be in the upcoming 16th episode of the season.

Joel’s Introduction to the Scientific World

Yuki Sakakihara will bring to life Joel, a character described as a young, top-notch watchmaker. His appearance is scheduled for the 16th episode of Dr. Stone: Science Future, which is part of the anime’s second cour. This introduction comes as Senku and his allies continue their journey through the scientific world, particularly as the plot centers on the South America Arc.

Dr. Stone: Science Future – The Concluding Chapter

Dr. Stone: Science Future is the highly anticipated final season of the Dr. Stone anime. The season is divided into multiple cours, with the first cour having aired from January 9 to March 27, 2025. The second cour of Dr. Stone: Science Future premiered on July 10, 2025. This segment is expected to have a total of 12 episodes, a common length for television anime. New episodes are typically released on Thursdays.

The overarching narrative of Dr. Stone: Science Future involves Senku’s discovery that Why-Man is behind humanity’s petrification and his subsequent “Moon Landing Project” to uncover the truth and build a spaceship. This journey leads him to Dr. Xeno’s advanced Kingdom of Science and a race through the Amazon in South America to understand the secrets of the Medusa device.

Beyond Yuki Sakakihara’s casting as Joel, the new season features other notable voice actors. These include Akira Sekine as Luna, Chiharu Sawashiro as Carlos, Hiroki Yasumoto as Brody, Kenji Nojima as Dr. Xeno, and Kōji Yusa as Stanley Snyder. The series’ soundtrack boasts contributions from Hiroaki Tsutsumi, known for his work on Jujutsu Kaisen and Tokyo Revengers, alongside Tatsuya Katō and Yuki Kanesaka. KANA-BOON performs the new opening theme song “SUPERNOVA,” while -otoha- performs the new ending theme song “no man’s world” for the second cour.

Yuki Sakakihara is a Japanese voice actor affiliated with 81 Produce. He has rapidly gained recognition for his diverse roles in anime. Some of his prominent roles include Shu Ujigawa in From Argonavis, Nanaki Ralei in The Genius Prince’s Guide to Raising a Nation Out of Debt, Asahi Ikusaba in My One-Hit Kill Sister, Yako Amano in Ayaka: A Story of Bonds and Wounds, and Jyushi Aimono in Hypnosis Mic: Division Rap Battle: Rhyme Anima. In 2024, he also voiced Yūya in A Condition Called Love and Juri in Vampire Dormitory. His talent was recognized with the Best New Actor Award at the 18th Seiyu Awards.
