The DT Tensei: 30-sai Made Dōtei Datta Watashi ga Tensei Shitara Shijō Saikyō no Mahōtsukai ni Narimashita! manga series, also known as DT Tensei, is set to publish its final chapter in the upcoming issue of Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Sirius magazine, which ships on October 24. This announcement was made in the magazine’s November issue this Friday, signaling the end of the manga adaptation.
A Brief Run for the Isekai Series
The manga, which features art by Shutaro Yamada and story by Ira Ishida, first debuted in Monthly Shonen Sirius in August 2023. Despite its relatively short serialization, it quickly garnered attention with its unique premise within the popular isekai genre. Kodansha released the manga’s third compiled book volume on April 9.
The Story of Kōta’s Reincarnation
DT Tensei follows the journey of Kōta, a 30-year-old convenience store clerk who, unfortunately, dies in a car accident without ever experiencing a romantic relationship. His story takes an unexpected turn when he is reincarnated into a fantastical new world. In this new existence, Kōta discovers that his “magi”—a potent magical ability—awakens precisely when he reaches the age of 30, transforming him into the world’s strongest wizard. He eventually finds himself living with the aristocratic Archibald family and uncovers that his “magi” is identical to that of the legendary wizard Lord Astron.
Origins in Web Novels
The DT Tensei manga is an adaptation of the D・T Tensei Series novel, which was originally launched by Asuka Shiryūin on the popular Shōsetsuka ni Narō (“Let’s Be Novelists”) website in November 2020. This web novel platform is well-known for hosting numerous stories that later receive manga and anime adaptations. Ira Ishida, credited with the manga’s story, is also the creator of the Ikebukuro West Gate Park novel series, which has inspired various adaptations including a television anime and live-action series. Shutaro Yamada, the artist for DT Tensei, is also known for his work on the Read or Die manga.
