Anime Series Overview
“Private Tutor to the Duke’s Daughter” is based on the light novel series by Riku Nanano, which began as a web novel on Kakuyomu in October 2017 before being published by Fujimi Shobo with illustrations by cura starting in December 2018. A manga adaptation by Tamura Mutō launched in September 2019. J-Novel Club has licensed both the light novel and manga for English release.
The anime adaptation is scheduled to premiere in July 2025 and is being produced by Studio Blanc. The series is directed by Nobuyoshi Nagayama, with Kazuya Ishiguri as assistant director. Megumi Shimizu is in charge of series composition, Akiko Toyoda is handling character designs, and Kei Haneoka is composing the music.
Synopsis
The story follows Allen, a promising young sorcerer who fails his final exam for a coveted position at the royal court. Unable to even afford the train fare back home, he takes a job as a private tutor for Tina, the Duke’s daughter. Despite her academic prowess, Tina is unable to cast even the simplest of spells. As the Royal Academy entrance exams approach, Allen takes on the challenge of unlocking Tina’s magical potential.
