Hideaki Yoshikawa’s manga adaptation of “Dungeon Builder: The Demon King’s Labyrinth is a Modern City!” has reached its end. The final chapter was serialized online in two parts on Overlap’s Comic Gardo website on March 21 and 22, 2025.
Final Volume Released
Overlap published the 12th and final compiled book volume of the series on February 25, 2025. This marked the conclusion of Yoshikawa’s adaptation of the light novel series.
Synopsis of “Dungeon Builder”
“Dungeon Builder: The Demon King’s Labyrinth is a Modern City!” tells the story of Procel, a rookie demon lord with a novel idea. In a world where demon lords build dungeons to harvest human emotions, Procel envisions a revolutionary dungeon where humans and monsters can coexist peacefully. His journey begins with the initial challenge of defeating the Wind Demon Lord.
Light Novel Origins
Rui Tsukiyo launched the original light novel series on the Shōsetsuka ni Narou website in June 2016, concluding it in March 2018. Overlap published eight print volumes with illustrations by fuumi between December 2016 and June 2019. Tsukiyo also launched a related novel series, “Maō-sama no Machizukuri ~Mahō to Kagaku to Mamono ga Tsukuru Risō no Machi~,” in August 2018, which ended in April 2019.
English Release
Seven Seas Entertainment has licensed the “Dungeon Builder” manga for English Release, bringing the series to a wider audience.
Yoshikawa’s Other Works
Besides “Dungeon Builder,” Hideaki Yoshikawa has also created other manga series. Seven Seas previously released Yoshikawa’s “The Other Side of Secret” manga, while Digital Manga Publishing released “Me and the Impish Devil.” Yoshikawa’s “Kagaku no Yatsura” manga also inspired an original video animation (OVA). Yoshikawa recently launched the “Kokuen no Ō Zelk” manga on Square Enix ‘s Manga UP! website on February 26, 2025. This new manga follows Natsuki, a boy who gains dark powers after an incident at a technology park and embarks on a journey to restore the world.
