The Story of “Easygoing Territory Defense by the Optimistic Lord”
The anime adapts the popular light novel series by Sou Akaike, with illustrations by Kururi. The story centers on Van, the fourth son of a powerful noble, who at two years old regains memories of his past life as a Japanese salaryman. Initially considered a child prodigy, his family’s perception changes when, at eight years old, he manifests “Production Magic” – a skill deemed useless for battle in a family that values offensive magic.
Consequently, Van is banished by his disappointed father to oversee a small, struggling country town. Armed only with his personal maid, his past life’s knowledge, and his supposedly “worthless” magic, Van endeavors to revitalize the village and improve his own fortunes. The narrative explores whether his production magic can build a better life than traditional battle magic.
