Orange Inc.’s digital manga platform, Emaqi, has officially released Yūji Nakamura’s action-romantic comedy manga series Rokudo’s Bad Girls (Japanese: Rokudō no Onna-tachi) in English for North American audiences. The announcement was made on Friday, October 3, 2025, bringing the popular series to a new legion of fans.
The digital release is available through the Emaqi app and online service, offering readers the chance to dive into the unique world of delinquent high schoolers and supernatural charm.
About Rokudo’s Bad Girls
Rokudo’s Bad Girls centers on Tousuke Rokudou, a timid first-year student at Amori High, a school predominantly attended by delinquents. Rokudou, along with his two friends, constantly faces bullying and longs for a peaceful school life.
His life takes an unexpected turn when he receives a mysterious scroll from his late grandfather. This ancient family heirloom, passed down since Japan’s Heian period, is said to ward off demons and evil spirits. Upon holding the scroll, a pentagram mark appears on Rokudou’s forehead.
The scroll’s modern-day effect is far from what he expected: it causes any “bad girl” to instantly fall in love with him upon making eye contact. This magical charm drastically changes his school life, as he finds himself thrust into the delinquent culture and encountering various girls, each presenting new challenges. The manga blends action, coming-of-age drama, and romantic comedy elements.
Manga’s Original Run and Anime Adaptation
Written and illustrated by Yūji Nakamura, Rokudō no Onna-tachi was serialized in Akita Shoten’s Weekly Shōnen Champion magazine from June 2016 to April 2021. The series was collected into twenty-six tankōbon volumes. The manga’s popularity also led to an anime television series adaptation by Satelight, which aired from April to June 2023.
Emaqi’s Growing Digital Manga Library
Emaqi, launched by AI localization company Orange Inc., aims to make a vast library of Japanese manga accessible to English-speaking audiences. The service debuted in the United States and Canada in September 2024, featuring approximately 6,000 volumes from 13 publishers at its launch. Emaqi’s goal is to add at least one new, previously unreleased English title every week, with plans to include 100 never-before-translated manga by the end of 2025.
Orange Inc. has secured translation, publishing, and distribution rights from prominent publishers such as Akita Shoten, Shonengahosha, and Futabasha, and also acquired distribution rights from Kodansha USA Publishing. The platform uses a pay-per-title model with in-app purchases and offers a “Wait Until Free” system for selected titles, allowing users to unlock one chapter every 23 hours at no cost.
