TOKYO, Japan – Iconic anime franchise Evangelion is set to enthrall fans once again with a series of theatrical revival screenings across Japan from October 2025 to February 2026. Titled “Monthly Evangelion EVANGELION 30th MOVIE Fest. 2025-2026,” the event will commemorate the 30th anniversary of the original Neon Genesis Evangelion television series, which first aired in 1995.

The festival will see six pivotal films from the Evangelion saga return to the big screen, with one film screened each month for a limited one-week period, except for October which will feature two films.

A Monthly Deep Dive into Evangelion’s Legacy

The “Monthly Evangelion EVANGELION 30th MOVIE Fest. 2025-2026” schedule offers a comprehensive journey through the franchise’s cinematic history, encompassing both the original films and the Rebuild of Evangelion tetralogy.

October 2025: Kicking Off with Classics

The celebration begins in October 2025 with two significant entries. From October 10th to 16th, fans can experience Neon Genesis Evangelion: Death(True)² & Rebirth. This will be followed by the intense The End of Evangelion, screening from October 24th to 30th. Both films are crucial for understanding the original series’ narrative and its controversial conclusion.

November 2025: The Rebuild Saga Begins

November will mark the start of the Rebuild of Evangelion series screenings. From November 14th to 20th, Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone (version 1.11) will be shown, setting the stage for the reimagined narrative. This film introduced a new generation to the world of Evangelion while re-contextualizing familiar events.

December 2025 & January 2026: Continuing the Rebuild Narrative

The journey continues into December 2025 with Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance (version 2.22), slated for December 12th to 18th. January 2026 will feature Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo (version 3.33) from January 9th to 15th. This screening is particularly noteworthy as it will include, for the first time outside of an event screening, the bonus features EVANGELION:3.0 (-120min.) and EVANGELION:3.0 (-46h), providing additional context to the time skip within the film.

February 2026: The Grand Finale

The festival will culminate in February 2026 with Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time (version 3.0+1.01), screening from February 13th to 19th. This film served as the much-anticipated conclusion to the Rebuild of Evangelion tetralogy, drawing over 6.7 million viewers in Japan alone upon its initial release.

Exclusive Attendee Gifts and Broader 30th Anniversary Celebrations

As an added bonus for attendees, a limited number of smartphone-sized stickers featuring the poster visuals of each screened film will be distributed as gifts.

Beyond the theatrical screenings, the Evangelion 30th anniversary is being celebrated with a range of other events and merchandise. Three new Blu-ray box sets, including a “Full Complete Blu-ray Box,” are scheduled for release in December 2025. Additionally, a large-scale, three-day festival titled “EVANGELION:30+; 30th ANNIVERSARY OF EVANGELION” is planned for Yokohama Arena in February 2026, promising exclusive exhibits, interactive content, live musical performances, and merchandise sales. An exhibition titled “ALL OF EVANGELION” will also take place at Tokyo City View in Roppongi Hills from November 14, 2025, to January 12, 2026, showcasing original artwork and production materials.

These extensive celebrations highlight the enduring cultural impact and devoted fanbase of the Evangelion series, 30 years after its initial broadcast.
