The popular short anime series Everyday Host, based on Nimo Gotō’s four-panel gag manga, is officially receiving a sequel. The announcement was made on Saturday at a fan appreciation festival event for the series. While specific details regarding the format or medium of the new installment were not immediately disclosed, creator Nimo Gotō expressed excitement, stating they were looking forward to a “new Everyday Host series.”
A New Chapter for Club One
The news of a sequel comes as a welcome development for fans who have followed the quirky antics of the hosts at “Club One.” The original short anime, a gag comedy focusing on the daily lives within a host club, resonated with audiences since its premiere in April 2025. The upcoming sequel promises to expand upon the world and characters that have charmed viewers.
Diving into the World of Everyday Host
Everyday Host centers on Koichi, an ex-businessman named Sekiguchi who, after falling ill, makes an unexpected career change to become a host at “Club One.” The series then delves into his experiences alongside a colorful and eccentric cast of co-workers. These include a junior-looking host with over two decades of experience, a former idol, and a rough-around-the-edges host obsessed with social games, among others.
The first anime adaptation was produced by Fanworks, known for their work on Aggressive Retsuko, with Rarecho serving as both director and scriptwriter. It initially aired on TV Tokyo and ran for two consecutive cours. During its run, a “second season” was announced, which introduced new characters from a rival establishment, “Club Trillion,” including Rui, Shin, and Mio, voiced by Yūichirō Umehara, Kōtarō Nishiyama, and Kōhei Amasaki, respectively. This expansion further enriched the series’ narrative and character dynamics.
Talented Cast Brings Characters to Life
The original short anime featured a talented voice cast that brought the diverse personalities of Club One to life. Key cast members included Hiro Shimono as Koichi, Taku Yashiro as Hajime, Tasuku Hatanaka as Ryōichi, and Nobuhiko Okamoto as Senichi. Their performances were instrumental in establishing the comedic tone and emotional depth of the series.
From Web Manga to Animated Success
The Everyday Host story originates from Nimo Gotō’s four-panel manga, which first launched online on their personal site, Nico Nico, and pixiv comics in July 2020. Kadokawa later acquired the series and published several digital volumes under their Asuka Comics DX imprint. The manga’s unique blend of gag comedy and relatable workplace scenarios laid the foundation for its successful transition to animation and its continued popularity, culminating in this eagerly anticipated sequel.
