Manga Origins
Originally a one-shot manga published in June 2019, “Me and the Alien MuMu” has been serialized in Shonen Gahosha’s Young King OURs GH magazine.
Themes and Homages
The manga and the alien character’s name, MūMū, are an apparent homage to “Mū,” an unorthodox magazine focused on paranormal matters. The magazine has been referenced in other anime, manga, and games, such as “Weathering With You” and “Occultic;Nine”.
