The manga adaptation of Saki Ichibu’s light novel series, “Formerly, the Fallen Daughter of the Duke” (Moto, Ochikobore Koushaku Reijou desu.), has officially gone on hiatus. This announcement was made by the manga creator, Ushio Shirotori, via her X/Twitter account.
Reason for the Hiatus
The primary reason for the manga’s suspension is the need for creator Ushio Shirotori to recover following the birth of her second child. Shirotori expects to have recovered by winter, suggesting a potential return of the series around that time.
About “Formerly, the Fallen Daughter of the Duke”
“Formerly, the Fallen Daughter of the Duke” is a manga adaptation of a light novel series that delves into the popular “villainess” otome game trope with a unique twist. The story follows Claire Martino, who once led a privileged life with a loving family and a crown prince fiancé. However, she loses everything due to her half-sister, Charlotte, and is scorned as a villainess. Claire then embarks on a journey of self-discovery, only to realize that her life mirrors the hardest route of an otome game called “NEW START ♡ ETERNAL LOVE.”
The manga series launched on Mag Garden’s Mag Comi website in September 2020. As of April 15, Mag Garden had published the seventh compiled book volume in Japan. Tokyopop handles the English publication of the manga, with the sixth volume released on June 10. The original light novel series by Saki Ichibu began serialization on Shōsetsuka ni Narō in March 2020 and concluded in May 2020. J-Novel Club is responsible for the English release of the light novels.
