The highly anticipated Gachiakuta anime adaptation is officially confirmed to air for a continuous six-month period without breaks, spanning two consecutive cours and totaling 24 episodes. This uninterrupted broadcast schedule, a rare occurrence in recent anime productions, has been met with significant enthusiasm from fans.

Broadcast and Streaming Details

The Gachiakuta anime, produced by the acclaimed studio Bones Film, known for works such as My Hero Academia, premiered in Japan on Sunday, July 6, 2025. It is airing on CBC, TBS, and 26 other channels in Japan.

For international viewers, Crunchyroll is streaming the anime globally, including North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS (excluding Russia and Belarus), and the Indian subcontinent. Crunchyroll is also providing an English dub for the series. Additionally, Netflix is streaming the series in select Asian regions. New episodes are scheduled to be released on Sundays at 8:00 a.m. PT / 11:00 a.m. ET on Crunchyroll. The continuous run is expected to conclude on December 14, 2025.

Plot and Production

Based on Kei Urana’s dark fantasy manga with graffiti design by Hideyoshi Ando, Gachiakuta centers on Rudo, a young boy living in the slums of a floating town. Falsely accused of murder, Rudo is exiled into a perilous wasteland below, known as “the Pit,” which is filled with monstrous “trash beasts.” To survive and seek vengeance against those who wronged him, Rudo must master a new power and join a group called the “Cleaners” who battle these creatures.

The anime is directed by Fumihiko Suganuma, with Hiroshi Seko handling series composition and Satoshi Ishino as the character designer and chief animation director. Taku Iwasaki is composing the anime’s music. The opening theme song, “HUGs,” is performed by Paledusk, and the ending theme song, “TOMOSHIBI,” is performed by DUSTCELL. The decision for a continuous, break-free run signals Bones Film’s confidence in the series’ narrative strength and visual ambition.
