Nikumura Q’s comedy manga, Giant Ojō-sama (Giant Young Lady), is set to receive a TV anime adaptation by Tatsunoko Productions. The announcement was made by Shogakukan, who serializes the manga on their Sunday Webry service.
Riko Fujidō’s Gigantic Proportions
The story revolves around Riko Fujidō, the daughter of an ultra-wealthy family, who suddenly starts growing to gigantic proportions. As a result, she matches the size of attacking kaiju. The manga follows her comedic adventures as she navigates her newfound gigantism and attempts to maintain her dignity.
Nikumura Q’s Giant Ojō-sama Manga
Nikumura Q began serializing the Giant Ojō-sama manga on Shogakukan’s Sunday Webry service in July 2021. The series was initially a webcomic published on Shueisha’s Jump Rookie manga website in December 2020. As of April 2024, the manga has been compiled into nine tankōbon volumes. Shogakukan is celebrating the anime announcement by offering all chapters of the manga for free for 48 hours. The 10th volume of the manga is scheduled to be published on March 12, 2025.
Story Synopsis
Oriko Fujido, head of the Fujido Zaibatsu, which has a monopoly on Japan’s vending machine industry, is served by her butler, Dr. Sebastion. When a monster attacks the city, Dr. Sebastion gives Oriko an experimental energy drink that causes her to grow into a giantess to combat the monster.

The series was nominated for the eighth Next Manga Awards in 2022 and ranked 5th in AnimeJapan’s 6th “Most Wanted Anime Adaptation” poll in 2023, indicating its popularity and anticipation for an anime adaptation.
Tatsunoko Production: Anime Pioneers
Tatsunoko Productions, the studio behind the anime adaptation, was founded in 1962 by Tatsuo Yoshida and his brothers. The studio is known for producing classic anime series such as:
