Popular anime YouTuber and content creator Gigguk (Garnt Maneetapho) has announced that his original anime short film, Bâan -The Boundaries of Adulthood-, will premiere worldwide on his YouTube channel on September 20, 2025. The global release will include an English dub featuring a notable voice cast and will be accompanied by a special launch party on his Twitch account.

Worldwide Premiere and English Dub Details

Bâan -The Boundaries of Adulthood- is set to debut for a global audience on Gigguk’s official YouTube channel on September 20, 2025. This highly anticipated release will feature a full English dub, bringing the story to a wider international viewership. The English localization efforts are spearheaded by English Localization Producer Diana Garnett, with fellow content creator Connor Colquhoun (CDawgVA) serving as the ADR Director.

The revealed English dub cast includes:

  • Sydney Poniewaz (Sydsnap) as Rin
  • Aleks Le as Daichi

For the original Japanese dub, Haruna Mikawa voices Rin and Shoya Ishige takes on the role of Daichi.

Exploring “Bâan -The Boundaries of Adulthood-“

The 18-minute short film, stylized as Bâan, is an original isekai anime created by Gigguk himself. It centers on two protagonists, Daichi Arai and Rinrada Ratchamanee, who are both embarking on a journey to find a place where they truly belong.

A Tale of Two Worlds

The narrative of Bâan unfolds across two distinct worlds: modern-day Japan and the fantastical realm of Euthania. These worlds are intricately connected by a mysterious warp gate. Euthania is depicted as a land rich in nature, populated by various magical races inspired by Southeast Asian mythology, though it also harbors dangerous creatures.

The story follows:

  • Daichi Arai: A 21-year-old from Japan, who, due to conflicts with his family, seeks to escape to Euthania.
  • Rinrada Ratchamanee: A 19-year-old from Euthania, who ventures from her village to connect with Japan.

This dual perspective promises an exploration of personal growth and the search for identity across different cultural and fantastical landscapes.

Production Excellence and Creative Vision

Bâan -The Boundaries of Adulthood- boasts an impressive production team. The anime is directed by Yoshimitsu Ohashi, known for his work on CODE GEASS Rozé of the Recapture, with Gigguk himself serving as supervising director. The screenplay was penned by Megumi Hosaka, and the music was composed by Kevin Penkin, celebrated for his scores in Made in Abyss and The Apothecary Diaries. Animation production is handled by Studio Daisy.

The project is a flagship initiative under GeeXProductions, a new label formed under GeeXPlus, which is a subsidiary of KADOKAWA. This venture highlights GeeXPlus’s commitment to creator-centric, YouTube-first animation projects.

From Theatrical Debut to Global Streaming

Before its worldwide YouTube release, Bâan -The Boundaries of Adulthood- had a theatrical premiere in Japan on August 24, 2025, at the Grand Cinema Sunshine Ikebukuro in Tokyo. This special event included introductory remarks from Gigguk. The YouTube release on September 20 will also be accompanied by a behind-the-scenes documentary, offering fans a glimpse into the making of the anime.

Gigguk, also known as Garnt Maneetapho, is a prominent Thai-British YouTuber with a substantial following, recognized for his insightful anime commentary and as a co-host of the popular Trash Taste Podcast. His foray into original anime production marks a significant step, blending traditional anime creation with the reach and influence of online content creators.
