Gnosia Episode 6, titled “Nostalgic Flowers,” aired on November 15, 2025, further deepening the mysteries and social deduction challenges aboard the interstellar cruiser. This installment introduced new characters and a critical new role, the Guardian Angel, significantly altering the dynamics of the ongoing Gnosia elimination game and intensifying the struggle for survival within the time loop.

The Core Premise of Gnosia

For those new to the phenomenon, Gnosia originated as a critically acclaimed single-player sci-fi social deduction role-playing game developed by Petit Depotto. Often compared to games like Werewolf or Mafia, it places the player aboard a drifting spaceship where some crew members are infected with “Gnosia,” an alien threat intent on eradicating humanity. The core gameplay involves daily debates where the crew votes to put a suspicious individual into “cold sleep” and nightly eliminations by the Gnosia. The narrative unfolds across numerous time loops, with the player and one other character, Setsu, being the only ones aware of these recurring cycles. The game’s objective is to gather information across these loops to uncover the truth and ultimately break free from the temporal prison. The anime adaptation, produced by Domerica, premiered in October 2025, bringing this unique narrative to a broader audience.

Episode 6: Introducing Jonas, Kukrushka, and the Guardian Angel

Episode 6 marks a pivotal point in the anime’s adaptation, expanding both the crew roster and the available roles, thereby escalating the complexity of the social deduction game. The episode introduces two new key characters: Captain Jonas and the mysterious, mute girl Kukrushka. Their arrival brings the total crew count to twelve, with three Gnosia among them.

Crucially, “Nostalgic Flowers” also unveils the “Guardian Angel” role. This new human-aligned role has the ability to protect one crew member from a Gnosia attack during each warp jump, though they cannot protect themselves. This addition profoundly impacts strategy, as it creates an extra layer of protection—or potential deception—within the debates. The presence of a Guardian Angel means humans have a new tool to combat the Gnosia, but it also provides an opportunity for Gnosia or other saboteur roles (like the Anti-Cosmic Follower) to lie about their identity and sow further discord.

Gameplay Implications from the Source Material

In the original Gnosia game, unlocking and understanding different roles is central to progression. After approximately 12 loops, players gain the ability to manually adjust settings for each loop, including choosing their own role (Engineer, Doctor, Guardian Angel, Gnosia, etc.) and the number of NPCs. The Guardian Angel, when played in the game, is a human who cannot protect themselves but can shield another from Gnosia attacks, indirectly confirming human status. The introduction of this role in the anime signifies the increasing complexity of the “game” being played out on the ship, mirroring the game’s progression where new roles and characters are gradually integrated into the loops.

Heightened Stakes and Character Dynamics

The introduction of new crew members and roles in Episode 6 naturally leads to heightened suspicion and more intricate debates. Yuri, the protagonist, continues to grapple with the agonizing decisions of whom to trust and suspect, a core emotional and strategic element of the Gnosia experience. With more variables in play, the task of identifying the Gnosia becomes even more challenging, reflecting the game’s design where increasing complexity requires players to develop their own abilities like Charisma, Intuition, Logic, Performance, and Stealth.

The episode explores the conundrum of revealing one’s role. While openly declaring a specialized role like Engineer, Doctor, or Guardian Angel can build trust, it also makes that person a prime target for the Gnosia if they are indeed human, or a potent deceiver if they are Gnosia. This central dilemma fuels much of the suspense and character interaction in Gnosia, as alliances shift and suspicions mount.

Looking Ahead

Episode 6, “Nostalgic Flowers,” effectively expands the Gnosia anime’s scope, introducing elements that are fundamental to the depth of the original game. By bringing in new characters and the Guardian Angel role, the series promises even more intricate social deduction scenarios and deeper exploration of its compelling narrative as Yuri and Setsu strive to understand and break the endless time loops. The continued layering of roles and characters keeps the audience engaged, much like the game compels players through its numerous, varied loops.
