As of February 3, 2025, Ami Koshimizu, Ai Kakuma, and Kenji Hamada are joining the series, lending their talents to new characters from the world of Phantom Trigger. “Grisaia: Phantom Trigger” is the latest installment in the “Grisaia” series, a franchise that has explored themes of combat, espionage, and the lives of young women trained for perilous missions. The story is set years after the events of “The Fruit of Grisaia,” with a focus on Mihama Academy. Once a sanctuary for young girls, the academy has been repurposed as a training ground for SORD (Special Organization for Research & Development), an agency dedicated to national defense.
The anime follows an ensemble cast of new characters attending the training academy for SORD, and they each possess unique skills and face dangerous missions.

Production Details
The “Grisaia: Phantom Trigger” anime boasts a talented team. Kōsuke Murayama is directing the anime, and Bibury Animation Studio, which animated the game’s OVA adaptations, is producing the television anime. Akio Watanabe serves as the character designer and chief animation director, and Hitoshi Fujima, Yūsuke Takeda, and Fuminori Matsumoto are the composers. Frontwing and WOWMAX are producing the anime. Mao Uesugi performs the opening song “Zero Ignition,” and Yoshino Nanjō performs the ending theme song “Dandelion.”
From Visual Novel to Anime
“Grisaia: Phantom Trigger” began as a visual novel series by Frontwing. The first TV anime adaptations by Eight Bit were released between 2014 and 2015. The original video animation (OVA) adaptation of “Grisaia: Phantom Trigger” opened in Japan in March 2019, with Frontwing releasing an English dub. “Grisaia: Phantom Trigger the Animation Stargazer” premiered on November 27, 2020. The current anime television series adaptation premiered in January 2025 and is expected to run for 13 episodes.
