The official website for the upcoming television anime adaptation of Aki Akimoto’s Mechanical Marie (Kikaijikake no Marie) manga has officially revealed its theme song artists. Harutya is set to perform the opening theme, “Honto to Uso” (Truth and Lies), while Nao Tōyama, who also voices the titular character Marie, will perform the ending theme, “Cross Heart ~Itsuwari no Nai Kimochi” (Feelings With No Lies). The series is slated to premiere in October 2025.
Anime Set for October 2025 Premiere
The Mechanical Marie anime adaptation is scheduled to begin its broadcast in October 2025 on Tokyo MX, ytv, and BS Fuji. Crunchyroll will stream the series worldwide, with the exception of Asia, but including India and the Indian Subcontinent. The anime’s production details were announced on August 5, 2024, with Zero-G and Liber handling the animation.

Junji Nishimura is directing the anime, with Mariko Kunisawa in charge of the series scripts. Yoko Kikuchi is designing the characters, and the music is being composed by Yasuharu Takanashi and Johannes Nilsson.

Mechanical Marie Story Synopsis
The Mechanical Marie anime is based on Aki Akimoto’s manga series, which was initially a one-shot published in Hakusensha’s LaLa magazine in March 2020, before being serialized from June 2020 to June 2023. A sequel series titled Mechanical Marie+ began serialization in LaLa in April 2025.
The story revolves around Marie, a human girl who was once a genius martial artist. To hide her true identity, she takes on the role of a “mechanical maid” in the mansion of Arthur, an heir to a powerful conglomerate who harbors a strong dislike for humans. Marie’s naturally expressionless face aids her in maintaining her robot disguise, allowing her to flawlessly carry out her duties. All the while, she secretly protects Arthur from constant assassination attempts. The plot is further complicated by Arthur’s strong affection for Marie, which frequently puts her human identity at risk of exposure, leading to a series of comedic and tense situations.
