The Story of a Hero Without Skills
The Hero Without a Class: Who Even Needs Skills?! anime is based on the fantasy light novel series written by Shichio Kuzu and illustrated by Yumehito Ueda. It originally began as a web novel on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website in November 2017. Earth Star Entertainment later published the series as light novels, and a manga adaptation by Akio Nanae has been serialized in Comic Earth Star magazine.
One Peace Books holds the English license for the manga adaptation and describes the premise: In a world where individuals receive a “Class” and “Skills” at the age of ten, profoundly shaping their lives, Arel—the son of the esteemed Sword Princess Farah and Archmage Leon—discovers he possesses no class at all. Without a class or skills, Arel must rely on sheer hard work, cunning, and natural talent to forge his own path and emerge as a unique kind of hero.
