What is “Plus-Sized Elf” About?
“Plus-Sized Elf” follows the story of Naoe-kun, a massage therapist. One day, he encounters a peculiar patient: Elfuda, a beautiful elf with emerald eyes and pointy ears. However, Elfuda has a distinctly “plus-sized” figure due to her love for junk food after coming to the human world. The story revolves around Naoe-kun helping Elfuda lose weight and overcome her junk food addiction. Seven Seas Entertainment, which releases the manga in English, describes the story similarly.

About the “Plus-Sized Elf” Anime
The “Plus-Sized Elf” anime premiered in Japan in July 2024 and was streamed by HIDIVE as it aired. HIDIVE also screened the anime’s world premiere at Anime Expo the previous year. The anime is directed by Toshikatsu Tokoro (The Highschool Life of a Fudanshi) at studio Elias, with series composition by Yuki Takabayashi (Love Rice), character designs by Katsuyuki Sato (My Stepmom’s Daughter is My Ex), and music by Cher Watanabe (Maken-Ki!).
Manga Origins
The original “Plus-Sized Elf” manga by Synecdoche launched on Wani Books’ Comic Gum website in December 2016. It later moved to Akita Shoten’s Dokodemo Young Champion magazine. Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the English version of the manga. A “second season” manga, titled Plus-Sized Elf: Second Helping (Shin Plus-Sized Elf), launched in November 2021.
