HIDIVE has announced that it will exclusively stream P.A. Works’ new original television anime series, Dusk Beyond the End of the World (Towa no Yugure), for the Fall 2025 season. The highly anticipated sci-fi drama is set to debut on MBS and TBS’ “Super Animeism Turbo” programming block in October. Fans will have an early opportunity to experience the series, as HIDIVE will host the world premiere of the anime’s first two episodes at Anime NYC on August 24 at 3:30 p.m. EDT at the Javits Center.
A Journey Through a Post-War Future
Dusk Beyond the End of the World plunges viewers into a world 200 years after a devastating war. The story centers on Akira, a male high school student who awakens from cold sleep to find a radically transformed Earth. A new unified organization, OWEL, now governs humanity, and a system called “Elsie” (or “LC”) has replaced traditional marriage.
The Enigmatic Android Yugure
Upon his awakening, Akira encounters an android named Yugure, who bears a striking resemblance to his past girlfriend, Towasa. Adding to Akira’s bewilderment, Yugure immediately proposes marriage to him. Convinced that Towasa must still be alive somewhere in this altered world, Akira embarks on a journey with Yugure. The series is described as an original sci-fi drama exploring themes of love and human-android relationships in a post-apocalyptic setting.
Key Creative Team and Cast
The anime boasts a talented production team and cast bringing this futuristic narrative to life. “Project FT” is credited with the original work for Dusk Beyond the End of the World.
Direction and Character Design
Naokatsu Tsuda, known for his work on JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and planetarian, is directing the anime at P.A. Works and is also overseeing the series scripts. Manga creator Midori Tayama (Girl Crush) is responsible for the original character designs, which are being adapted for animation by Yoshiko Saitō (Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible, Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation II). The music for the series is being composed by Masahiro Tokuda (Ishura, Platinum End).

Dusk Beyond the End of the World joins HIDIVE’s growing roster of exclusive simulcasts for the Fall 2025 season. John Ledford, President of HIDIVE, expressed excitement for the unique original anime, stating it will “transport audiences to an unknown futuristic world that will be explored together with each new episode.” Other series announced for HIDIVE’s Fall 2025 lineup include the fantasy-adventure anime Hero Without a Class: Who Even Needs Skills?!, which will also have its world premiere at Anime NYC 2025.
