HIDIVE has officially announced it will stream the highly anticipated television anime adaptation of Nekoko and NAJI Yanagida’s light novel series, Reincarnated as a Dragon Hatchling (Tensei Shitara Dragon no Tamago Datta: Saikyō Igai Mezasanee), starting in January 2026 as part of the winter anime season. Ahead of its full streaming debut, fans will have an opportunity to catch the North American premiere at Anime Frontier in Fort Worth, TX, scheduled from December 12-14.
An Isekai Adventure from an Egg’s Perspective
Reincarnated as a Dragon Hatchling plunges viewers into a unique isekai narrative where the protagonist finds himself reborn not as a powerful hero, but as a defenseless dragon egg at the very bottom of the food chain. To survive and eventually hatch, the unnamed hero must level up by battling dangerous monsters that surround him in an unfamiliar forest. With the aid of a mysterious voice in his head, he embarks on a journey to evolve and become the strongest creature in this perilous new world.
The series promises an adventure and fantasy experience, exploring themes of growth, survival, and overcoming humble beginnings to achieve greatness. Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the official English versions of both the light novel series and Rio’s manga adaptation, giving Western audiences a chance to delve into the story before the anime’s release.
