Manga creator Hiromasa Okujima will launch a new manga tentatively titled “Serial-san” in the next issue of Shueisha’s Grand Jump Mucha magazine on February 25. The announcement came from the January 2026 issue of the magazine, revealing the new series will feature a color opening page and be highlighted on the issue’s front cover.

Hiromasa Okujima is known for a diverse range of manga, with several of his works receiving significant attention and adaptations. His “Baban Baban Ban Vampire” manga, which he launched in Akita Shoten’s Bessatsu Shōnen Champion magazine in October 2021, has been particularly successful. Akita Shoten published the manga’s 12th volume on November 7.
“Baban Baban Ban Vampire” Adaptations
The “Baban Baban Ban Vampire” series has inspired both an anime adaptation, which streamed on Netflix on January 12, and a live-action film that premiered on July 4. This “Bloody Love Comedy” centers on a 450-year-old vampire named Ranmaru who works part-time at a public bath and endeavors to protect the virginity of 15-year-old Rihito, the bathhouse owner’s son, as Ranmaru seeks the “blood of an 18-year-old virgin”.

Okujima also has another series, “Katei Kyōshi no Kishi Knight Desu.” (I Am the Home Tutor Kishi Knight.), inspiring a live-action series adaptation set to premiere on January 5. He serialized this manga in Akita Shoten’s Nicchan Gecchan magazine in 2019.
Furthermore, Okujima collaborated with SHOOWA on the “Bad Boys, Happy Home” (Dōsei Yankee Akamatsu Seven) manga, which Viz Media’s SuBLime imprint licensed. This manga, launched in Akita Shoten’s Kachi Comi magazine in April 2018, explores the domestic adventures of two “handsome yankees”. He has also been in the planning stages for a sequel series to “Itadaki! Nariagari Meshi”.
Okujima’s passion for manga began in childhood, inspired by Dragon Ball, and he later trained at an arts school in Kobe before moving to Tokyo and working as an assistant to Tetsuya Saruwatari. His works often feature themes from his interest in martial arts, drawing inspiration from friends’ anecdotes for combat scenes.
