The magical saga of Lloyd de Saloum is set to continue as “I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince so I Can Take My Time Perfecting My Magical Ability” gears up for its second season. Fans can mark their calendars for July 2025, when the new season will premiere and stream on Crunchyroll. Alongside the release date, two new cast members have been revealed, promising to add fresh dynamics to the already captivating storyline.

New Cast Members Join the Royal Court

The upcoming season will introduce two key characters voiced by talented actresses:

  • Manaka Iwami as Escher: Escher is portrayed as a kind-hearted nun from the Dane district of the Kingdom of Saloum, possessing a beautiful singing voice and a gentle, slightly ditzy nature. Iwami, known for her role as Akane in “Oshi no Ko,” expresses her enthusiasm for the series’ comedic ad-libbing and the inspiring performances of her fellow cast members. She also highlights the beautifully rendered visuals and anticipates the addition of voices and music.
  • Minami Tsuda as Saria: Saria is the fourth princess of the Kingdom of Saloum and Lloyd’s older sister. She is depicted as a musical prodigy, deeply knowledgeable about various instruments. Tsuda, recognized for her role as Nemo in “Gushing over Magical Girls,” describes Saria as a quiet character who tries her best to impress Lloyd.

Production and Visuals

Tsumugi Akita Animation Lab is returning to animate the second season, with Jin Tamamura at the helm as director. A new teaser visual has been released, featuring Lloyd de Saloum, Iisha, and Saria, hinting at the magical adventures to come. The visual places Lloyd at the center, seemingly casting a spell, with Iisha and Saria positioned on either side.

A Synopsis of “I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince”

“I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince so I Can Take My Time Perfecting My Magical Ability” is a Japanese light novel series written by Kenkyo na Circle and illustrated by Meru. The story follows a protagonist who, obsessed with magic in his previous life, is reincarnated as Lloyd, the seventh prince of the Kingdom of Saloum. Given his new circumstances, Lloyd is determined to master magic, unburdened by the constraints of lineage, talent, and effort that often dictate magical ability.

The series began as a web novel on Shōsetsuka ni Narō in October 2019 before being acquired by Kodansha. The light novel series currently has eight volumes. A manga adaptation illustrated by Yōsuke Kokuzawa has been serialized in Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket since June 2020, with 17 tankōbon volumes as of February 2025.

Season 1 Recap

The first season of the anime adaptation aired from April to June 2024, earning praise for its high-quality animation and faithful adaptation of the light novel. It follows Lloyd’s journey as he navigates his new life, honing his magical skills and forming relationships with those around him. The season finale left viewers eager for more, setting the stage for the adventures that await in Season 2.

AnimeJapan 2025 Stage Event

The anime will host a special stage event at AnimeJapan 2025 on March 22. The event will feature the series’ cast, including Makoto Koichi, along with the newly announced cast members, Manaka Iwami and Minami Tsuda.

Where to Watch

“I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince So I Can Take My Time Perfecting My Magical Ability” Season 2 will be available for streaming on Crunchyroll when it premieres in July 2025.

Anticipation Builds for Season 2

The announcement of the second season has generated excitement among fans, who are eager to see Lloyd’s magical journey continue. The addition of new characters and the return of the original cast and staff promise to deliver another season of captivating fantasy and adventure.
