REMOW announced that it is releasing High School! Kimengumi and My Little Monster with English subtitles in the U.S. and Canada on the “It’s Anime” YouTube channel.
High School! Kimengumi: A Hilarious Throwback
High School! Kimengumi originally aired for 86 episodes between 1985 and 1987. The anime is based on Motoei Shinzawa’s manga, which ran from 1982 to 1987 in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. Hiroshi Fukutomi directed the anime, and Hatsuki Tsuji and Hiroshi Kanazawa designed the characters. Shunsuke Kikuchi composed the music.
The anime features the voices of Issei Futamata, Kaneto Shiozawa, Miki Takahashi, Naoki Tatsuta, Naoko Matsui, Shigeru Chiba, and Tesshō Genda. The gag comedy revolves around five unique students who become friends with the cutest girl in school.
My Little Monster: A Sweet and Engaging Romance
My Little Monster (Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun) is based on Robico’s manga. The anime premiered in 2012, and Crunchyroll streamed it as it aired in Japan.
The story revolves around the relationship between Shizuku Mizutani, a girl focused solely on studying, and Haru Yoshida, a troubled boy who becomes her friend. Shizuku is asked to deliver handouts to Haru, who hasn’t been to school since an incident on the first day, leading to an unexpected bond.
