Kodansha’s K Manga platform has officially launched the English serialization of Ippei Nara’s popular manga, The Daily Life of a Single 29-Year-Old Adventurer, now titled An Adventurer’s Daily Grind at Age 29. The announcement was made on K Manga’s X (formerly Twitter) account on Saturday, December 27, 2025, bringing the fantasy-slice-of-life series to English-speaking audiences.
The move expands K Manga’s growing library of officially translated works and comes ahead of the manga’s anime television series adaptation, which is slated to premiere in January 2026.
What is An Adventurer’s Daily Grind at Age 29 About?
The manga centers on Shinonome Hajime, a 29-year-old adventurer with considerable experience in dungeon delving. His seemingly routine life takes an unexpected turn when he rescues a young girl named Rirui from a slime monster. Rirui, abandoned by her parents and with nowhere to go, is taken in by Hajime, who is unable to leave her to fend for herself, particularly given his own past struggles with hunger from growing up in the slums. Their new life together reveals that Rirui is far from an ordinary child, adding a unique “caregiving twist” to the adventure fantasy genre.
Ippei Nara first launched the manga in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine in January 2016. As of September 2025, the series has been compiled into 20 tankōbon volumes, with the 21st volume scheduled to ship in February 2026. The manga is also available on Kodansha’s Japanese manga app, Magazine Pocket.
K Manga’s Expanding Reach and Features
K Manga, launched by Kodansha in the United States on May 10, 2023, is the publisher’s official manga platform, aiming to increase accessibility for American manga fans. The platform initially debuted as a smartphone app, with a website version following soon after.
