Tsuburaya Productions and Toei Animation have officially revealed a new trailer, key visual, and the primary voice cast for their upcoming CG anime film, Kaiju Decode: The Ring of Aidara. The project, an original animation co-production, is slated for a 2026 premiere and expands upon the existing Kaiju Decode multimedia initiative.
The Story of Kaiju Decode: The Ring of Aidara
The Kaiju Decode: The Ring of Aidara film is set to explore a narrative centered on a “Kaiju” and a young girl, unfolding in the distinctive Sakai City. The plot introduces two contrasting worlds and protagonists: Maru, a youth residing in the peaceful “City,” a society unfettered by bodily, mental, spatial, or temporal limitations, and Coco, a girl from the “Aidara Tribe” who inhabits the perilous “Zone,” a region teeming with incredible beasts. Their intertwined journey seeks to forge a path toward a shared future, exploring themes of coexistence and the meaning of life.
The broader Kaiju Decode project, initially announced at Tsuburaya Convention 2019, has previously produced a short anime and a VR animation, alongside a virtual reality game titled Kaijuu Decode: Super Multiverse MR, which launched in February 2024 for Meta Quest 3 and Pro.
Unveiling the Key Visual and Special Promo
A striking key visual for Kaiju Decode: The Ring of Aidara has been unveiled, offering a glimpse into the anime’s aesthetic. This visual was preceded by an illustration for the project released on September 12 JST, crafted by JNTHED, known for their work as co-mechanical designer on the Urusei Yatsura remake and production designer for Spriggan (Netflix).
Adding to the excitement, a special promotional video premiered on YouTube on October 20, 2025, at 5:00 PM JST, providing fans with their first moving look at the new CG animation.

- Coco will be voiced by Karin Takahashi.
