“Fans of Kaiju No. 8 can now stream the latest installment of the second season, with Episode 15, titled “The Strongest Division,” having premiered on August 2, 2025.” This episode continues the intense confrontation with Kaiju No. 9, which has proven to be a formidable and intelligent adversary, overwhelming the Defense Force by splitting into two entities.

Release and Streaming Information

Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 officially premiered on July 19, 2025, following an earlier special episode, “Hoshina’s Day Off,” which aired on July 5, 2025. New episodes of the second season are being released weekly on Saturdays. Crunchyroll is the primary streaming platform for Kaiju No. 8 Season 2, offering both subtitled and dubbed versions.

“Episode 15 of Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 became available for streaming on Crunchyroll on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 7:30 AM Pacific Standard Time (PST), 10:30 AM Eastern Standard Time (EST), and 3:30 PM British Summer Time (BST).” For viewers in Southeast Asia, Medialink has licensed the series for streaming on its Ani-One Asia YouTube channel.

Season 2 Overview and Plot Progression

The second season of Kaiju No. 8 picks up after the events of the first season, where Kafka Hibino’s identity as Kaiju No. 8 was dramatically revealed. Having proven his humanity despite his monstrous transformation, Kafka is now positioned to play a crucial role in the ongoing battles, especially against Kaiju No. 9. This intelligent Kaiju has been shown to disguise itself as a human to better understand and counter human strategies.

Season 2 introduces the elite First Division of the Defense Force, which Kafka and Kikoru join. The narrative intensifies as the confrontation with Kaiju No. 9 escalates, putting Kafka’s abilities to the ultimate test. Episode 15, “The Strongest Division,” specifically highlights the ongoing struggle against Kaiju No. 9. The episode focuses on characters like Kikoru and Narumi, with Kikoru actively engaging the enemy and a flashback providing insight into her mindset and the tragic loss of her mother. Kafka also experiences a critical moment where he overcomes his initial inability to transform, successfully shifting into Kaiju No. 8 by the end of the episode.

Episode Count and Future of the Series

The first season of Kaiju No. 8, which aired from April to June 2024, consisted of 12 episodes. Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 is slated for 11 episodes, making it a total of 12 “new” episodes if including the “Hoshina’s Day Off” special that preceded the season. Crunchyroll’s listing for the second season also continues the episode count from the first season, meaning Episode 15 of Season 2 is listed as Episode 15 overall by the streamer. The manga series, written and illustrated by Naoya Matsumoto, concluded its serialization on Shueisha’s Shōnen Jump+ online platform in July 2025. The final collected volume of the manga, volume 16, is set to be released on September 4, 2025.
